About Internet Access Help

Internet Access allows you to set up the time slots when the Internet is available or barred for a specific groups of users and/or computers. These groups of users and computers are known as control sets.

Setting Internet Access involves:

For example, you could create a control set containing 'All Users' and 'Library Computers', and apply the access level 'Internet' for time slots corresponding to lunchtime and after school.

Internet Access is supplied with a default access level providing full access to the Internet. This is applied to your control sets by default. You can also add and apply your own customised access level.

Notes

  • Internet Access only controls timed availability of the Internet for Internet-enabled users and computers. For a user to be able to access the Internet from a specific computer, both the user and the computer must be Internet-enabled. For further information on how to enable or disable Internet access for a user, see Users Help.

  • Any changes to the configuration will not take effect until you click the Apply button.
