About Packages & Products Help

The Packages & Products option enables you to add programs and multimedia titles to the network, by either creating Windows Installer packages or using existing installation packages. After the packages are on your network, you can use the RM Management Console to assign the packages to multiple computers. After a package has been assigned to a computer, the program or title will be installed automatically in the background.

You can also assign packages to a location. This means that all computers in that location receive the package. Optionally, when a computer is added to a location, packages assigned to the location as defaults are automatically installed on that computer.

The Packages & Products option also enables you to assign products to multiple computers or locations. Products are made up of multiple Windows Installer packages, and can only be created by RM.
