Computer policies

Different computer policies can be applied to desktop computers, laptops and server workstations to provide the most appropriate configuration for their users.

Your RM network provides access to the following computer policies:

Shared Desktop A policy designed for desktop computers on the network.
Shared Laptop A policy designed for computers that are often disconnected from the network.
Personal A policy suited for computers which are used exclusively by one user, whether they are desktop or laptop computers.
CyberCafe A policy designed for computers in open access areas where users without accounts can log on.
Terminal Server A policy designed for a Terminal Server.
All Computers A global policy providing settings that are applied automatically to all the computers in your network. These settings will override any settings applied by a computer's own registry policy or local settings.

Notes

Other software supplied by RM that you install onto your network may install additional registry policies.
To apply a computer policy to computers, use the RM Management Console, Computers option.
As computer policies are applied only at startup, computer behaviour will remain consistent throughout the session. When a policy is changed to configure the computer differently, the change(s) will apply to those computers the next time the computer is booted up.
