Uploading a file to users

You can upload a single file to selected users, or to a folder on another computer. For example, a teacher can use this function to distribute homework assignments to students, or provide them with an updated template file.

To upload a file to users

  1. From the left-hand pane, expand Picture of the Users icon Users and choose All Users.

  2. From the right-hand pane, select the user(s) that you want to receive the files.

  3. Right-click the selected user(s) and from the menu, choose Upload File.

  4. In the File section:

  5. To specify the file to copy, type the full path and name of the file. Alternatively, click the Browse button, then find the file to upload and click Open.

  6. To specify the destination folder, type the full path and name of the folder. Alternatively, click the Select button and find the required destination folder. When the destination folder does not already exist, you can create it by clicking the Make New Folder button, typing a folder name and clicking OK.

  7. Optionally, to overwrite a file that already exists, tick the 'Overwrite file...' box.

To add users to the list

  1. In the Users section, click the Add button.

  2. Under 'Select items to add', expand the tree view until you can choose your required users, for example, Students.

  3. From the 'Available items' list, select the users you want and then click the > button, or double-click each user. Alternatively, to add all available users, click the >> button.

  4. Click OK.

To remove users from the list

  1. In the Users section, select the user(s) to remove.

  2. Click the Remove button.

To finish, click the OK button on the File Distribution window.
