Allowing RM EasyLink remote access

When you enable RM EasyLink remote access, this allows the user to access shared files and their home folder on your network from a computer that is not managed by the RM Management Console. For example, this might be a teacher's laptop being used from home.

To allow or prevent RM EasyLink remote access

From the left-hand pane, expand Users and choose All Users.
From the right-hand pane, right-click the user and from the menu, choose Properties.
Choose the Rights tab.
Under Remote access:
To allow remote access to the network using RM EasyLink, tick the 'Allow remote access...' box.
To prevent remote access to the network using RM EasyLink, clear the 'Allow remote access...' box.

Click OK.

Notes

This property is only available when RM EasyLink is installed.
You can use the same process to manage multiple users in the same folder. First, select all of the users that you want to manage. When the tick is grey, some of the selected users have RM EasyLink remote access enabled, and some have not.
User properties are also available by selecting the user and choosing in the toolbar, or by double-clicking the user in the right-hand pane.
You can also set this user property on a template.
