Users > Managing users > Import users
To create multiple users, you can import users from a file (CSV or TXT).
When you import users from a file, they retain all their current user properties. This saves time over creating a new users from scratch and then specifying all their user properties.
From the toolbar, choose Import
and then select Users.
On the 'Import updates...' window, select Users from the drop-down list, and click Next.
In the Source File section, type the name of the file you want to import from. Alternatively, use the Browse button to find the file to import, and click Open.
Depending on the format of the file to be imported, you may need to select a delimiter character for the imported data. You can select the TAB character, or specify your own single character.
You can specify whether there are headers in the first row of the data to be imported by ticking the 'Data contains...' box.
You can check the data to be imported in the Data Preview section.
Click Next.
In the Mapping section, you can specify how the data to be imported should be mapped to existing user properties:
Mandatory user properties that cannot be mapped automatically are displayed in the Mapping list. To map a user property from the list, click on the property to select it, and then select an appropriate item from the 'Column in Source File' drop-down list to map to. You can check the resultant mapping in the Preview section.
To add a user property to the Mapping list so that you can map it, click the Add button, select an item from the Property list and click OK.
To remove a selected user property from the Mapping list, click the Remove button.
Note: As a minimum, you must map usernames.
When you have finished mapping the data to be imported, click the Import button.
Your choices are validated. When you have not supplied sufficient information to create users from the imported data, an error message is displayed. Repeat step 8 until you can import without error.
When the information is successfully imported, the Select User Location window is displayed.
Select the required location.
If necessary, select a different user template.
Click OK.
