Moving a user to a different server

Within your network, you can spread user accounts over different servers for load balancing and to improve performance.

From the Disk Usage tab, you can view server space and resources for your users, and assess what changes you may need to make to your servers and the distribution of users on them. For example, you might want to move users (user accounts) to a different server if one server disk is over-subscribed.

To move a user to a different server

  1. From the left-hand pane, expand Picture of the Users icon Users and choose All Users.

  2. From the right-hand pane, right-click the user and from the menu, choose Move.

  3. Navigate through the tree view until you can choose the new server.

  4. Click on the new server location for the selected user.

  5. Click OK on the Select New Location window.

  6. Click OK.

Notes

  • You cannot move the user account you are logged into.

  • You can also move a user by dragging and dropping them onto the new server, or by choosing Move from the Tasks menu.

  • You can use the same process to move multiple users to the same server. First, select all of the users that you want to move.
