Removing a package from the network

When you remove a package from the network, it is no longer available for assignment. However, this does not delete the original installation program used to create the package.

If you want to remove a package from the network, you should first withdraw it from use. This ensures the package is uninstalled from every computer and location to which it is currently assigned.

To remove a package from the network

  1. From the left-hand pane, expand Picture of the Software icon Software, then expand Picture of the Packages & Products icon Packages & Products and choose All Packages.

  2. From the right-hand pane, right-click the package and from the menu, choose Remove from Network.

  3. To confirm, click OK.

The package no longer appears in the packages list.

Note

  • If you choose to continue with package removal without first withdrawing it, and the package is still assigned to computers or locations, you will no longer be able to unassign it using the RM Management Console. Instead, you will have to use the Add/Remove Programs feature to remove the program from individual computers.
